My Thoughts On Origins

The second attempt, let's go!

Alright so I did start another post about this a few weeks ago, but since then some more information has come out and I think that may give us a better picture of what's going on. I'm also trying to keep this as brief as possible as I have to be somewhere shortly. So, let's get on with it.

Alright, so almost a month ago this video was released to promote a crowdfunding campaign for Boondock Saints: Origins. I was very skeptical about the campaign, given the track record the director of the first two films, Troy Duffy, has and because the minimum amount they were asking for was $600. However, I did not think anything too terrible was going on behind the scenes, I just thought they were being greedy.

Then it was announced that Norman Reedus had no involvement in the project what so ever. Once again, I didn't think much of it. He does have the Walking Dead and his own show to think about, so he's probably just too busy to take on another show right now.

Then Sean Patrick Flanery posted this on Twitter:

Needless to say, that got me worried.

Then this article came out and it was all I needed to come to this conclusion: there's some kind of scam going on.

Alright, a big accusation to make and I have very little to go on other than some vague he said, she said, but Sean did say that there was "something [he and Norman] deemed incredibly unethical that [they] cannot turn a blind eye to." Given that the minimum amount you can donate to the crowdfunding campaign is $600 (very steep for most people), my guess would be that the money's being laundered or mismanaged in some kind of way and Sean and Norman left for that reason. I know neither of them would be comfortable taking fans' money like that or having their names attached to some kind of scam, so it's a valid theory.

Then again, what do I know? I'm just a twenty-year-old sitting on her bed, eating M&Ms, and speculating about the legality of a crowdfunding campaign while I myself can barely keep my bank account balance over $0.00, and you most likely are some poor, horny dude in Abu Dhabi looking for a hot Muslim single in your area to bang. (Yes, I know where most of my traffic comes from and I'd like to state proudly that the site you just came from is fake.) If you are thinking of donating to this fundraising campaign, I would strongly caution you against it, but I have no control over what you do with your money, so have at it Hauss, I guess. If this series does come out, I am going to watch it, but I'm most likely going to pirate it. I know...

I try to do things legally. It's not my fault that I'm broke. It's the person who thought it was a good idea to buy all those extra lives on Blossom Blast Saga on my phone and wasted them all in less than twenty minutes' fault.

Anyways, as far as that fanfiction I'm writing goes if the new series follows the canon of the movies, I guess I'll have to take it into consideration. If not, I'll just cherry pick what fits into my headcanons and what doesn't. That sound good?

Grief, Depression, and Hopelessness

Don't worry, Daryl. All the pretty ones are ugly criers. (Seriously, this came up for "ugly crying gif".)

So, yeah. It's been awhile since I've updated anyone on my life, so might as well do it now. Lately, I've been dealing with a lot... I just recently lost someone close to me and I'm kind of struggling with it. I... To be honest, I don't think I'm doing that well with it. I feel like I should be over it by now, but I'm just not and I don't know why. The fact that I honestly was quite depressed prior to this happening probably doesn't help matters. I would seek professional help, but apparently my insurance doesn't cover mental health stuff, even though I'm on state-funded insurance for elderly and mentally disabled people because I have a mental health issue. Seriously, where is the logic in that?

I don't know when the depression started, but I do know around the summer of 2013 is when I started taking notice of it and started requesting help for it. I have had some really low lows in that time, but thankfully I've never gone through with anything drastic. I'm starting to feel pretty hopeless, like I'm never gonna be able to get myself help; I'm never gonna actually make something of myself; I'm never gonna be truly happy... It fucking sucks and I don't expect anyone to understand. You just have to be in my shoes to get what I'm going through and that's probably the worst part, no one's ever gonna understand what's wrong with me but me, and I just wish there was a way I could make people understand.

I also watched Straight Outta Compton today and that probably didn't help... If you haven't seen it yet... Sad ending. That's all I have to say.

Well, now that I've gotten that out of my system and depressed you all, here's a picture of a corgi splooting. You deserve this cuteness.

Also, I've also managed to double my amount of posts vs. last year. Huzzah!

A Charlatan Among Saints First Notebook

My name's blurrypics and I care what you think.

So, uh, yeah, I know the quality's shit but I don't have a scanner, so what can I do? I actually didn't realize the quality was this bad until I pulled the pics off of Tumblr to repost here. So yeah, sorry.

My Stance On Ships/Pairings

Sadly, We're Not Talking About These Ships

Okay, so it's eleven o'clock at night right now and I woke up at about seven AM, so I'm kind of a bit tired as I write this, so if my thoughts seem a tiny bit disconnected and incoherent, that's why.

Alright, so I'm sure if you read my fic Hi no Nami: Black Diamond (And if you haven't yet, why don't you?) you would know that I updated the chapter three author's note to clarify my stance on certain ships and pairings. I feel that I might need to expand on this further. Basically, I stated that I'm fine with shipping siblings together. As long as the actors playing them aren't siblings in real life and no one is getting harmed as a result of it, then I'm fine. If you're having sex with your siblings in real life, though, I really suggest you seek psychological help, because there's obviously something wrong there.

As far as I'm concerned with shipping, though, there are just a few rules I try to abide by. I can't always as my inner bouncy fangirl sometimes takes control and I end up favoriting a few fics I regret, but still, in general, this is what I try to avoid:

  • Celebrity/Real Life Ships: Yeah, for the most part, I try to stay away from these. Mostly because, one, I usually don't give a fuck about celebrities lives, and two, it just feels like I'm crossing some sort of line. I mean, think about it. How would you feel if you stumbled across a bunch of videos on You Tube where someone cut together a bunch of pictures and video clips of you and your best friend to some cheesy romantic music? Yeah. That'd be kind of disturbing.
  • Ships That Violate Age of Consent Laws: Okay, for those of you that don't know what the fuck age of consent is, according to Wikipedia, it's "the age at which a person is considered to be legally competent to consent to sexual acts", so basically when you're old enough to screw whoever you like, regardless of age. Now, this is a tricky one as not all the media I watch is from the United States or takes place there. In addition to Anime, I watch shows that are made in and take place in Great Britain. (Such as Doctor Who and it's spin-offs.) So, if I'm not sure whether or not a ship falls into the age of consent laws in that country, I have to go look it up. In general, though, in the United States, it tends to be somewhere between sixteen and eighteen. (It depends on the state, for example, the age of consent of the state I'm in is sixteen, but in a state like California or Arizona, the age of consent is eighteen.) Also, in Great Britain, the age of consent appears to be sixteen across the board (The source I'm using could be wrong, though, as it is Wikipedia. If anyone in Great Britain wants to clarify the specific laws in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland are, feel free to do so.) Japan, though, is where things get messy... Apparently the age of consent there is thirteen, but thirteen to seventeen-year-olds can only have sex with other thirteen to seventeen-year-olds, however, a girl can still get married at sixteen if she wants to... What? Okay, if someone could elaborate on this country's rules, too, that'd be great.
  • Beastiality: Self-explanatory.
  • Canonical Abusive Ships: Yeah... This is another gray area. Nowadays any relationship that isn't portrayed as being a magical romance where the people involved feel nothing but undying eternal love for each other is considered abusive. However, this what I consider to an abusive WHEN IT COMES TO FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. I understand that in real life abuse isn't always someone hitting someone else and it's not always clear-cut. So, what I consider to be a canonical abusive relationship is when one or both people in a relationship hit, harm, psychologically torture, or even kill (or at least attempt to kill) the other person. I know people are going to say "Wait, then why do you write that stuff with Marci and Logan?", but I would just like to say that I do not intend for Marci and Logan to get together. In fact, Logan's actually gonna get what he deserves real soon...
Okay, so those are the biggest things I can think of right now. Once again, if you know anything about the laws in Japan or England, please leave a comment down below. I've been writing this for the past hour, so I think I'm gonna go to bed...

Why I'm Taking Longer to Put Out Chapters

Shit, this is taking a long time...

So, yeah. As many of you who follow Hi no Nami have probably noticed it's taken me a long time to update. "Why is this?" You may ask. Well, just so you know I don't have school or work to fall back on as an excuse because I'm an unemployed high school graduate. I'm not going to go into why I'm not choosing to work or go to college (that's another story for a different time) but I basically have all the free time in the world.

The only legitimate life reason is that I'm pretty much gonna be spending the rest of Twenty-fifteen and a good chunk of Twenty-sixteen going in and out of surgery. My most recent one was on September Eleventh (Do I have to capitalize the date because it's pretty much a national day of mourning?) and I'm still kind of recovering from it.

The real reason, though is that lately I just haven't been in the mood to write. I've mostly been watching Doctor Who and Steven Universe and going through Tumblr posts. I do have a good chunk of the Chapter Three re-write done, it's just taking a lot for me to get it done. So, please be patient with my laziness and know that I always am going to work on Hi no Nami. I've been constructing this story since October of Twenty-ten and I'm not giving up on it now!

Now I'm going to make you all suffer with the "Giant Woman" song because I've had it stuck in my head for three hours now and I want you all to feel the pain!

My Failings as a Writer

I didn't want to find another picture and this was already on the blog. Plus, it's accurate...

Because it's one in the morning and I feel like it, I am going to compile a list of my failings as a writer. I am trying to improve these things, but it's hard. Just think of this as a self-reflection post for my own benefit.

  1. Difficulty using proper tenses.
  2. Difficulty describing proper emotions.
  3. Overuse of curse words.
  4. Difficulty understanding characters.
  5. Dating my fics by throwing in references to current events and pop culture.
  6. Making every parent terrible.
  7. Chapters Fourteen and Fifteen of the Game of Life.
  8. Under-developing characters.
  9. Not understanding how actual human relationships work.
  10. The beginning of Chapter Eighteen of the Game of Life.
  11. Not understanding how the actual real world works.
  12. Basic spelling and grammar fails.
  13. That thing I thought I posted as a blog post but actually uploaded to fanfiction.net.
  14. That Hi no Nami one-shot.
  15. The fishsticks joke in the Death Note fanfic. (Still getting questions about that.)
  16. Inside jokes.
  17. Creating too many characters
  18. Being too lazy to correct my mistakes.

A Prediction I Made Was Right

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Most Interesting Man in the World

I don't usually make predictions in Hi no Nami. That's mostly because I don't want to look around twenty-four years from now and see that every prediction I made I got wrong. (Also, to note, I only have the series take place twenty-four years in the future because I don't want to set it in twenty-fifteen and then five years from now try to remember what was popular in twenty-fifteen.) But I did make two predictions within the series cannon. (Or, rather fanon.)

ONE: That Global Warming would be so bad that'd there would be fricken' typhoons in December.

I take that as a sign we're getting close to that point.

TWO: Sears would be out of business. (Hasn't come up yet but will at some point.)

Not My Local Sears, but I Did See "Store Closing" Signs Everywhere Last Time I Went to the Mall

This only means one thing...

I AM ON FIRE!

I Need to Update This More...

Yeah... I couldn't resist using this gif of Spain...

Yeah, I haven't updated this blog that much this year. Mostly because I hate what a pain in the ass Blogspot is. I've basically given up making the Hi no Nami Blogspot look pretty. Also, because pretty much all of my traffic is coming from this weird Arabic dating site, so why should I even bother?

Oh well, might as well tell you I have a new fanfiction.net icon.

I know Amy Lee (the lead singer of Evanescence) wore an outfit like this in a music video once...

And make another useless plea for someone to teach me how to use Tumblr.

This came up for "I hate Tumblr". Dafaq?

And now I'm gonna go nurse my wounded ankle in the emo corner. See you when I decide to update this again in eight months.

Tumblr!

Yay!

I'd post a link to it but...

I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT!

ARRRG!

I'm seventeen years old and I can't figure out Tumblr... I'm... I'm a sad excuse for a human life, aren't I?

Yeah, if you wanna find me on there, my username is MewWinx96. (Like with every other website.) So yeah. I'm gonna go sulk in the emo corner now...

Update, Update, Up-date!

In other news, Malaysia Airline's Flight 370 is still missing. Some say it was shot down over the Ukraine, but as of this broadcast, we are unsure. Now, here's some hack psychic to tell you what MIGHT have happened to the plane.

Aw, CNN. I'm glad I don't watch you.

So yeah. Been awhile since I've updated the Game of Life. The reason being I'm going back and re-doing it. This time, with an editor. If anyone wants to help me, PM me on Fanfiction.net.

That's you're news update now a white guy here to tell you that Obama should be impeached just because he's Obama.

Oh, Fox News. I'm really glad I don't watch you.

Oh, and here's my new icon.

Rachel, Mira and You Tube Fights

No truer words have ever been spoken! ...Well, you know other than "MewWinx96 is a sick pervert"...

Alright, to start off I should say that the only affiliation with the people involved in this argument is that I am subscribed to some of them. Any and all information I present may not be true and is subject to change as more information comes out. I should also note that I'm not from Japan, nor have I (As of today, June twelfth, twenty-fourteen.) ever been there.

Okay, so I've seen videos all day from J-vloggers commenting on the situation between Rachel (A.K.A. MyHusbandisJapanese or Rachel and Jun) and Mira (A.K.A. Kanadajin3). According to the video by Rachel which started this whole discussion, Mira was creating fake accounts attacking her credibility and claiming she was tricking her subscribers into buying into a scam on the comments of a video Rachel had made where she endorsed this website that allowed you to buy Asian fashion for a low price. Rachel and several of her observant subscribers were able to discover it was Mira making these accounts and attacking her by unique spelling errors often made by Mira and the fact that all the accounts seemed to overly praise Mira. The thing that really seemed to pretty much confirm that this all was true was a video made by Kat (A.K.A. Kat Loves Osaka) where she said that Mira asked for a picture of her holding up a sign that said "I'm not Mira" and used it to disprove that she was the one making the fake accounts.

Now, just to get it out of the way, I do believe that Mira is in the wrong here and she should apologize, but I don't think she should do the big, huge public apology that everyone is calling for. I think that she should apologize to Rachel and Kat personally and if they want to come out and say "Hey, she said she was sorry" that's fine.

The thing I want to focus more on though is the subject of You Tube fights.

You know I'm not talking about those kinds of fights... -.-'

I mean when one You Tuber has a problem with another You Tuber and they bring it all out in the public with a series of videos attacking one another and so on. Granted, in this situation is kind of being handled maturely by those involved thus far. The video Rachel made was very calm and collected and presented the facts in a way that was believable and she did not attack Mira at all in the video. Although, Mira has yet to respond. But, most of the time when these things happen it turns into this whole Fifty Cent vs. Jarule or Tupac vs. Biggie Smalls type rivalry where people just keep going at each other until the situations been milked for all it's worth and everyone loses interest or someone is dead. (The situation where someone dies is less likely, though.)

I know some people make these videos because they want subscribers and because they want to be the victim and have everyone's attention on them, but what about the other people? You know, the ones who really do have a problem with someone and they drag it out into the public. What are they doing it for? I'm not talking about Rachel and Mira specifically, but just all other smaller You Tuber riffs in general. My only theory is that it adds to the drama and gets their subscribers to rally around them and attack the other person, but I do not think that is happening here. Rachel and several other You Tubers have requested that to one go out and attack Mira on You Tube or Facebook. (However, it seems that no one is complying with that request as if you look on her account on You Tube you can see people obviously attacking her on her discussion page.)

The only thing I have left to say is that if you ever get into a fight with someone, keep it in private. Do not take things to a public forum like You Tube. The internet is like an elephant, it never forgets and if you pull shit like this it could damage someone's reputation forever.

I couldn't resist posting a picture of an elephant here! They're so cute from a distance! ^-^
