Chapter Commentary

I think this is one of my favorite chapters. It’s the first one I wrote and the one where Murphy and Ellie finally meet (well, technically they already met, and they didn’t know it.) So yeah, much better than the last chapter!

Oh, and yeah this is the only one of two chapters that Smecker appears in. Dolly, Duffy, and Greenly don’t appear in this either if you’re looking for them. I did, however, leave a reference to Eunice Bloom in this chapter (she’s one of Smecker’s promising students) so yeah, just letting you know I didn’t forget about them.

Also, if it seems that Ellie’s drunken state is a little unbelievable, I’m sorry. Even though I’m twenty-one, I’ve never been drunk before so I don’t know what that’s like. I have been high on valium before (for medical reasons) so I know what it’s like not to be in control of your actions, but I don’t know what it’s exactly like to be drunk.
