Betrayed Prologue

Isn't it weird that I'm posting the prologue after posting the first two chapters?

When I was three, I trusted that my mother would be smart enough to take me to the hospital when I started showing signs of Anaphylaxis. That trust was betrayed.

When I was four, I trusted that my father wasn't lying when he said babies came from the stork, meaning I was part stork and could fly. That trust was betrayed and resulted in a broken wrist. But then again, it was mostly my fault 'cause I was four and stupid. (1)

When I was five, I trusted that my Kindergarten Teacher wouldn't get three other adults to hold me down and cover me with a blanket in an attempt to make me "reborn". (2) That trust was betrayed.

When I was six, I trusted that my mother would not completely break down when my father left, leaving me, my brother and my sister alone. That trust was betrayed.

When I was seven, I trusted that being a Victor would protect me from the Panem Fascist Government. That trust was betrayed.

When I was eight, I trusted the fact that most people who go to jail in Japan for attempted murder likely get sentenced to either life in prison or sent to death row. (3) Thankfully, this trust was betrayed.

When I was nine, I trusted that my mother would be smart enough to take her fourteen-year-old son to the hospital when he started showing signs of Appendicitis. (4) That trust was betrayed.

When I was ten, I trusted someone else's judgment more than my own. That trust was betrayed.

When I was eleven, I trusted that Logan Hutzberger would have the decency not to try to molest me in Easter's elevator. That trust was betrayed.

When I was twelve, I put the last tiny imp of trust I had in Easter that they wouldn't do anything to hurt my brother. That trust was betrayed in the worst way.

When I was thirteen, I held a common trust that all people hold that their best friend wouldn't try to kill them in an attempt to find the "Fountain of Youth". That trust was…

Alright, I have two new Fan Fictions up, "BĂȘte Noire" (Which is currently spelled incorrectly. -_-') and "The Ascension" so, check those out. I'm also starting a new Fan Fiction, hopefully soon. It's basically a Fan Fiction that will clear up things you don't understand. All you have to do is leave a question in the reviews of either this Fan Fiction, "BĂȘte Noire", or "The Ascension" and if I feel like I can't answer it in a PM, I'll write out an entire chapter to explain things.

Yonde kurete arigato. (Thanks for reading.) ^-^

(1) I actually attempted something similar when I was four and heard that fable, but it was a first-story window, so I was fine. Just cried a lot.

(2) A reference to the Candace Newmaker case. Look it up on Wikipedia if you want to know more.

(3) The prison system in Japan is actually pretty rough. If you're brought up on charges, there is no jury and the judge makes the final decision. Also, from what I understand, the guards can pretty much beat you up for absolutely nothing and get away with it. Search "Harsh Justice - Japan" on You Tube if you wanna learn more.

(4) That actually happened to my half-brother. He was living with his father and step-mother at the time and he got appendicitis and it wasn't until his appendix burst that they finally took him to the hospital. I remember my mom was so furious when she found out. It kind of ruined Christmas for us.
